Well we didn't go out last night - we got lobsters and had our traditional New Years Eve dinner and ate in. Which was delicious and we have leftovers for tonight too. But I was up ALL NIGHT - I'm still fighting this bug and I'm actually feeling worse now after starting to feel better. Ugh. So I have been up for about 30 hours at this point. If I'm not making sense that could be why
Finished my neck warmer and it IS a bizarre looking thing - but as stated it will be warm for going outside and working on wood for the wood stove. I did learn some lessons for future ones - like using a much softer yarn, making it a bit smaller around than this one is,and a bit longer, and finding a pattern - learning that and following it. Although I am till hoping that after throwing it in the washer and dryer (as I have seen people say they do in KR) it will soften up a bit. From what people have said there about the lasting power of this yarn (Red Heart Super Saver no dye lot) this will be an heirloom piece that will have people wondering in the future "What was rho thinking?" But that is ok - I like to keep people wondering :D And this really was just a learning experience of how different stitches look when done on circular needles and what changing needle size does - and I did learn quite a bit from it - so in that sense it was a success.
When my head is in better working order I may take a picture of this work of art its with many design elements (isn't that a better term than mistakes or weirdness) and post it here - but if I do be kind - remember I am new at all of this - both knitting and blogging.
Off to take some thera-flu and try to get some sleep.
